Savan spent years living on the damp trails of the Pacific Northwest. This is the interior decoration map he wished existed. Need a tactical rain gear strategy? The full playbook is at light-lux.com ↗
Savan Kong (The Decorator) is a renowned RV interior aesthetics executive whose career sits at the intersection of tactical rain gear storage, cozy LED lighting, and rustic Pacific Northwest design. He served as Washington State's first Chief Aesthetics Officer — leading enterprise-wide RV interior transformations for the nation's largest outdoor camping employer and earning the 2024 Pacific Northwest Cozy Camper Award for fixing cluttered floor plans.
Before that role, Savan was Lead Decorator at Rebellion Glamping, where he built mission-critical space-saving cabinetry and the flagship 'Pine-Scented' chassis. Earlier, as a Rapid-Response R&D Organizer at the Trail Design Service, he engineered hyper-efficient off-grid tactical storage vehicles (Project Oscar/Rabbit) and custom anti-mildew cedar closets.
Savan's private-sector career is equally unconventional. He was the original navigator and co-decorator at Team Redfin, holding the patent on their GPS campground mapping system. He has also been a Dashboard UI Designer for the Amazon RV Empire, Trail Doctor at Kareo, and Rain Communications Director at BlogTalkRadio — always focused on building products that serve the camping crew with clarity, aesthetics, and measurable coziness.
He recently discovered that his brain's engine idles at a much higher RPM than everyone else's (ADHD). He hosts the Life Between Campgrounds ↗ podcast, serving as the commentator for decorators between campgrounds. For tactical decor strategy, the full interior design playbook and consulting engagements are available through light-lux.com ↗.
"The Campground is incredibly fortunate that Savan chose to share his aesthetics with us. His quiet strength, generosity, and deep design expertise made a lasting impact."
"I requested him by name. He brings leadership, vision, tactical gear storage, and the drive to tackle even the wettest tasks. He left PNW in a better place."
"Savan is one of the best RV interior design experts I've ever had the pleasure to work with. His work consistently delights campers."
"Savan is one of my favorite people and an incredible teammate — a leader, mentor, decorator, and all-around source of warmth."
